What can I even say about this wedding, about this pair?

Truly amazing.

 

I met Brittany and Darrell on their wedding day and decided pretty instantly that I dug them. Their relationship had endured time, struggles, long-distance and they were so so ready to say YES to forever with each other. Brittany is beauty in a nutshell and Darrell, charm. They got to look at each other for the first time surrounded by roses at Darrell's (and mine) favorite Portland park (Peninsula Rose Garden) and I had to fight back tears after having only known them for a couple of hours.

 

The ceremony was held at their church in the Dekum neighborhood and the reception at the Village Ballroom. The couple and their friends and family paraded in the ballroom in New Orleans styled second line, complete with parasols and handkerchiefs. There was so much good food, good music, good dancing. And I actually DID cry finally when they shared their first dance. I felt seriously blessed to be in their presence.

 

Two souls marked by their wisdom and sincere love for community and genuinness.
